The focus in this program is on inclusion, teamwork, sportsmanship and building confidence. Kinders do not play official games or keep score, it is all about fun and learning! All teams are co-ed and led by YMCA staff. This program requires parental involvement to help encourage the most fun and participation. Practices with scrimmages are held once per week. Each player gets a Y uniform top to wear on and off the field.

Camping and Outdoor Leadership
Volunteers assist with the running of camp programs. This may include facilitating programs, cleaning, administrative support, and other duties as assigned. As a Program Instructor Volunteer, you’ll provide outdoor environmental education and/or weekend recreation programs for participants attending YMCA Camp Orkila. Work with a team of camp staff to provide quality programming, facilitate evening activities, meal duties, and cleaning duties as needed.

Orkila Volunteers assist with the running of camp programs. This may include facilitating programs, cleaning, administrative support, working with fellow counselors to help facilitate small group activities, assisting in field trip coordination, and other duties as assigned. Opportunities available June through August with flexible scheduling and a variety of program choices to fit every volunteer’s interests. Perfect for students interested in being a positive role model and gaining skills working with youth.

We are seeking licensed RNs and physicians to volunteer and assist with medical needs during our overnight camp. Main duties may include need to monitor and administer medications, review health records, monitor concerns and alerts as provided by participants prior to arrival at camp, provide additional medical care as needed for group while at camp, maintain accessibility through radio and/or cell phone. Qualifications: The volunteer must be a licensed healthcare professional, such as a nurse, nurse practitioner, doctor or physician’s assistant. Minimum Volunteer Age: 21+

Minis Indoor Soccer is an instructional and recreational 8-class program designed for preschoolers to have fun while learning rules and skills of the game. Kids practice the fundamentals of soccer like dribbling, shooting, passing and in most cases, going the right way down the court through fun drills and games. Make a Difference Across the Community! Join our dynamic team of Social Services Volunteers for impactful projects throughout Seattle, North Seattle, Auburn, and Tacoma. Group exercise is both fun and effective. Use your knowledge, skills and experience to lead one of our many group exercise classes and help our community become more healthy and connected. This role doesn't have a specific schedule due to it being for a variety of class times and days. A group fitness certification is required.

In this recreational youth volleyball league, players learn the fundamentals of volleyball, sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy habits while sharpening skills like spiking, setting and serving, practicing drills and having fun. This league is open to all genders. Teams practice once per week and play at least six games per season against other teams, including home games and games against other YMCAs in the region. All teams are led by volunteer coaches.

Players in 6th to 8th grades celebrate the love of the game in this youth volleyball league. Spikers focus on fine tuning the game, practicing teamwork and building on fundamental skills of spiking, setting, blocking and serving through fun drills. This league is open to all genders. Teams practice once per week and play games on the weekend, including home games and games against other YMCAs in the region. All teams are led by volunteer coaches.
