Kinders basketball is an instructional and recreational 8-class youth basketball program designed for Kindergarteners, ages 5 and 6, to have fun while learning rules and skills of the game. Kids practice the fundamentals of basketball like dribbling, shooting, passing, and in most cases, going the right way down the court through fun drills and games. The focus in this program is on inclusion, teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence. Kinders do not play official games or keep score; it is all about fun and learning! It is an instructional and recreational 8 class program designed for preschoolers to have fun while learning rules and skills of the game. Kids practice the fundamentals of basketball like dribbling, shooting, passing and in most cases, going the right way down the court through fun drills and games. The focus in this program is on inclusion, teamwork, sportsmanship and building confidence. Minis don't play official games or keep score, it's all about fun and learning! All teams are co-ed and led by YMCA staff. This league requires parental involvement to help encourage the most fun and participation. Practices with scrimmages are held once per week. Volunteer age requirement: 16+ 17+, 18+, 19+, 20+, 21+
