Northshore YMCA Active Older Adult Outdoor Walks

Northshore YMCA

Come enjoy outdoor walks with members of the community and YMCA staff. Volunteers will serve as an extra safety person during our Active Older Adult walking trips. Volunteers will need current CPR and First Aid certifications. Walking trips will be at a designated location where volunteers can meet staff and participants, or come to the Northshore branch and ride with staff and participants to the walking location. Each walk lasts about 3 hours.

Healthy Kids Day is a national YMCA initiative and annual free community event focused on getting more kids active while learning and creating new habits to continue all summer long. This event features activities such as games, arts & crafts, bounce houses and more. We are seeking individuals to support the day of event logistics.

Volunteers would assist in weekly delegation meetings, and help club advisors plan for weekly hybrid meetings and events.

Northshore YMCA

Our Juniors League lets youth in 3rd to 6th grades take their skills to the next level and experience constructive competition. Players in this youth basketball league continue to build skills like dribbling, shooting, passing and begin learning basketball plays through fun drills. Teams are formed by YMCA staff. We practice once per week and play games on the weekend, including home games and games against other YMCAs in the region. All teams are led by volunteer coaches.

Players age 12 to 15 celebrate the love of the game in this youth basketball league. Legends focus on learning plays, practicing teamwork and building fundamental skills. Teams participate at a higher level of competition that helps prepare them for playing in school leagues and throughout their entire life. Teams are formed by YMCA staff. We practice once per week and play games on the weekend, including home games and games against other YMCAs in the region. All teams are led by volunteer coaches.

In this recreational youth basketball league, players learn the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy habits while sharpening skills, practicing drills and having fun. Teams are formed by YMCA staff after a skills showcase. We practice once per week and play games on the weekend, but we don't keep score, it's all about fun and learning! All teams are led by volunteer coaches.
